We ‘rediscovered’ this gem when showing Renee’s new computer to my mom the other night.
That’s Lexi and Jonathan at his pre-school gradutation. Sure looks like he’s about to deliver a kiss, and it sure looks like they’re both a bit smitten with each other. Read the rest of this entry »
Jakes was obsessed (and still is) with choo-choo trains and buses throughout our vacation. He didn’t care that we were going to the Magic Kingdom he was more excited about the bus ride we took to get there!
As a souvenir we bought him diecast replicas of the Disney buses that transport you to the parks, the cruises and to and from the airport. He literally fell asleep with them in his hands at night. Now that we are home he takes them everywhere with him.
Jake was beside himself when he saw Mater and Lightening McQueen! He checked them both out thoroughly. The Disney worker kept telling him to look into the headlight (there’s a camera placed there so the driver can see where he’s going). Every time Jake did, the driver revved the engine real loud!
Matt had a meeting in Florida a couple of weeks ago, so the kids and I and Aunt Pam went along too! The resort had a rock wall and Jonathan met the safety requirements exactly (42 in. tall and 40 lbs.)! He was determined to make it to the top. There was one set of rocks that was really difficult for him. You could just see him staring at it and trying to think of a way to do it! In our home video you can hear Matt yelling up to him that he doesn’t have to reach the top. Jonathan just ignored him and he eventually made it all the way up!
The boys went to see the Easter bunny this week. Jake gave him a good once over. After he saw Jonathan climb up on his lap, he figured he most be okay and he climbed up too.
My niece, Kaylee found the newest commercial for Sports Time Ohio, an Ohio cable station that broadcasts the Indians baseball games along with other Ohio sports, on You Tube. She did a double take when she recognized a certain 5 year old boy getting Chief Wahoo painted on his cheek! Press play below and see if you can pick Jonathan out.
“Jake, someday I see our name in lights. Jonathan (first of course) and Jake.”
While visiting my sister Pam in Chicago this weekend we started looking at this picture and trying to come up with what we thought Jonathan was saying to Jake. I thought it would be fun to have everyone come up with their own caption. You can post it as a comment. Don’t get alarmed if your comments don’t post immediately because the software makes you approve them first.
Jonathan got DDR for his birthday. He can’t do it without Jake wanting to do it too! Little does Jake know, his dance pad doesn’t work! It probably won’t be long before he figures it out.
Renee and I were talking the other day about my cell phone plan and whether it would be affected by the Cingular and AT&T merger (those catchy ‘raising the bar’ commercials got us talking). Jonathan - never one to shy away from an eavesdropping opportunity - chimed in:
“They’re not deleting Cingular, are they? ‘Cause Pammy has Cingular and I don’t want her to lose service. And I think I’ll get Cingular for my service in a few years.”
We both cracked up, although I smirked a bit at his concern for Pammy and lack of interest in my well-being. Then, he had us laughing again tonight. We drove past a Cingular store on our way to dinner. He saw the sign and immediately felt better for his future service provider:
“Hey guys….I saw a sign with the Cingular logo. That’s good news…they’re not being deleted!”
Here’s the video that I took of Jonathan as Honorary Captain of the Toledo Storm. I especially love how the announcer says “Legos” when he is telling the crowd what Jonathan likes to do!
Here’s a quick video clip from the Jonathan’s Storm game the other night. The video starts just as he’s ‘regaining his footing’ after giving high-fives to everyone on the bench. Nice job, kiddo.
